WHO WE ARE
The Academy of Emerging Music Arts & Sciences exists because the way music is created is changing.
Emerging technologies are giving gifted creators access to possibilities that were once limited by money, connections, technical resources, or industry access.
AEMAS exists to recognize the human creativity, artistic excellence, innovation, and craftsmanship demonstrated through emerging forms of music creation.
The tools may change. The standard should not.
WHY AEMAS EXISTS
Music is changing, but excellence still needs a standard.
AEMAS was established to recognize the gifted creators using artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to bring ideas to life in ways that were once limited by access, resources, or opportunity.
Technology may expand what is possible, but it does not replace creativity, vision, or craftsmanship.
AEMAS exists to recognize those who master what is possible next.
ABOUT THE ACADEMY
The Academy of Emerging Music Arts & Sciences (AEMAS) is an independent organization established in 2026 to recognize excellence in emerging music creation and the human creative direction behind it.
AEMAS is the presenting organization of The Ellison Awards, with the inaugural awards cycle beginning with submissions in 2026 and culminating in the inaugural ceremony in 2027.
The Academy is building an awards institution designed specifically for a changing creative landscape while maintaining clear standards for eligibility, independent evaluation, conflicts of interest, certification, and awards integrity.
HOW THE ELLISON AWARDS ARE GOVERNED

Entries proceed through eligibility review, blind judging, independent certification, nominee determination and winner determination under defined awards procedures.

Eligible entries are evaluated by five judges. Judges receive identifying Entry IDs rather than entrant identities, and conflicts of interest require reassignment. The Founder does not participate in judging and does not have access to competing audio during blind evaluation.

Certified results are protected through defined administrative controls, with winners remaining confidential until the ceremony.
