The Launching Conference of the ASEAN Energy Management Scheme (AEMAS) in Thailand was organized with great success at the Conrad Hotel, in Bangkok, on Thursday 15 September 2010. Over 70 persons attended the Conference. The participants notably included:
- Energy specialists
- Managers of energy intensive organizations
- Staff of energy intensive organizations
- Members of the press / media companies
- Energy efficient equipment suppliers, distributors and manufacturers
- Auditing companies / companies conducting certification
- Representatives of academic institutions and student

During the conference, certificates have been remitted Thailand’s first AEMAS-certified energy managers (11 persons) and local trainers (6 persons).

The conference moreover included presentations by the Copper Development Centre Southeast Asia, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) – Southeast Asia Climate Change Network (SEAN-CC), Action for Sustainable Development (AEMAS’ core technical partner), and Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF), one of the first Thai companies to apply for the Energy Management Gold Standard.
Most participants have provided very positive feedback, expressing high satisfaction, and strong interest to join the AEMAS scheme.
