A: AEMAS or the ASEAN Energy Management Scheme is a regional initiative funded by the European Union’s (EU) Switch-Asia Programme that will increase the energy efficiency of energy end users (industries and buildings) through certification of energy managers that will ensure the reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emission in their companies across the ASEAN region.
A: Energy managers are trained by AEMAS-certified trainers and will have to take a classroom type test based on the AEMAS training curriculum. After passing the test, the AEMAS Project Partner and ASEAN Centre for Energy will certify the energy manager. For detailed training and certification procedures, click here.
A: The first step in the certification of an energy end-user is by having an AEMAS-certified energy manager in their company. After having an AEMAS-certified energy manager, the energy end-user may apply for AEMAS certification by undergoing an energy audit conducted by AEMAS-certified auditors. Results of the energy audit will be evaluated by the AMAS Country Experts/AEMAS Country Coordinator and must show real and quantifiable energy savings corresponding to equivalent CO2 emission reduction. After passing the evaluation of audit results by AEMAS Country Experts, the Project Partner and ASEAN Centre for Energy will certify the energy end-user. For detailed certification procedures for energy end-users, click here.
