The overall objective of the ASEAN Energy Management Scheme (AEMAS) is to reduce the energy consumption of the manufacturing/industrial sector across the region.
The specific objectives of AEMAS are to increase the energy efficiency of industries in ASEAN, the training and certification of energy managers on a large scale, and the certification of energy end-users.
The following objectively verifiable indicators of achievement have been defined for the specific objective:
AEMAS will result to an energy savings of about 200,000 MWh by the end of the Project, corresponding to a total of approximately 110,000 tCO2 emission reductions. It will also contribute to an improvement in the professional standing of certified energy managers who should move to higher positions within their companies and receive a 10% increase their salaries.
